A1 on BBC news

The BBC has been to A1 Flue Systems today to film us for a news story about the latest GDP figures.

Reporter Mike O’Sullivan and his cameraman Ian spent more than two hours this morning filming our manufacturing process and interviewing our director TJ Moir – while fellow director John Hamnett stayed firmly behind the camera.

Mike asked lots of questions about our business, what we do and the projects we have worked on. He also asked about how A1 Flue Systems has been trading in the current economic climate and whether we are now starting to see the green shoots of recovery. The filming was for a bigger piece that also included comments from George Cowcher, the Chief Executive of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce (DNCC).

Ian took great delight in filming different parts of our manufacturing process from all sorts of weird and wonderful angles. His filming included clips of Chris, Dave and Richard, who were all brilliant in front of the camera.

It was interesting that Mike had clearly done his homework on us and knew all about our awards, the projects we’d worked on (such as the Shard) and the number of people that work at A1.

After the filming was done, Ian edited the film in his van and uploaded the film back to base at the BBC. The news item was featured on East Midlands Today.
