Magazine editor visits A1

Just days after A1 Flue Systems scooped the prestigious Contractor of the Year award at the HVR Awards in London, the magazine’s new editor has visited our factory to find out what all the fuss is about.

New HVR editor Heather Ramsden travelled all the way from Kent to our New Ollerton factory to meet directors TJ Moir and John Hamnett and find out more about us.

We’re honoured that it was Heather’s first industry visit since taking charge of the magazine and, if truth be told, she didn’t have as many questions as we expected. That’s because she complimented us on our award submission and said it was so detailed that she felt she already had a very good understanding of A1.

TJ and John chatted away and talked through the installations that A1 Flue Systems had been involved with, which was like a construction version of ‘who’s who’. This included showing Heather a picture taken at the top of the Leadenhall Building (known as the Cheesegrater) in London last week by one of our installation team.

We showed her around the factory and it’s always fun to see how visitors react when they see how we do things.

All that said, we guess she’s gone away knowing more than she bargained for, after listening to some of John’s anecdotes, and she now knows what a Rolls Royce, Tesco Finest meals and our flues have in common.

Oh and we were also able to tell her about the four other awards that A1 has been shortlisted for!
