To all our customers

Following announcements from UK Government, the Prime Ministers address and in particular subsequent statements made by Government Ministers Michael Gove and Robert Jenrick. It has been made clear that construction projects are to continue operating but must comply with social distancing guidance.

Following consultation with our Health & Safety team and guidance from Principle Contractors, it is with a heavy heart that we as a company will be suspending all non- essential manufacturing and contract installation works as of close of play on 25.03.2020 until further notice. This may affect some contractual obligations we may have with specific customers however the Health & Safety of my employees is of paramount importance.

Due to guidance given on the measures being implemented on sites of all sizes in line with the Government's recommendations on social distancing and through mandatory Risk Assessment produced under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (MHSWR) Section 3 and guidance in (HSG65), A1 Flue Systems cannot keep the recommended 2-metres distance away during manufacturing and installation practices. A1

Flue Systems’ installations teams operate in teams of two and three operatives who also have to travel to site within the same vehicle. While installing on site it will be impossible to keep the 2-metre distance due to the size and nature of the flue installation.

I do not believe that the work we are currently undertaking is essential to the national effort to tackle this epidemic and therefore will heed the advice given around social distancing and non-essential travel. I believe that by doing this short-term A1 Flue Systems and the nation will be back up and running more quickly.

Please note that while our manufacturing and installation activities have temporarily closed, our Sales, Estimating and Engineering teams remain fully functional as well as our Technical Department to provide you with any advice you may need. As part of A1 Flue Systems’ Covid 19 policy, all staff who could work from home to do so and are now fully operational to continue to provide our customers with all the necessary advice and support you require, and to ensure when the time comes A1 Flue Systems is in a position to hit the ground running.

This situation remains fluid and new advice is being provided by the UK Government, Medical and Scientific Advisors, and the NHS on a daily basis. We will continue to monitor said advice and communicate further where appropriate. I will be making daily decisions on the Health & Safety risk to our employees to reopen the manufacturing facility and commence work on site.

A1 Flue Systems has made provisions to carry out work on safety critical sites such as care homes and hospitals or sites deemed critical by the UK Government, both in a manufacturing and installation sense, to aid the fight against Covid-19.

In the meantime, please look after yourselves, remain safe and continue to follow current medical and government advice. As a loyal and valued member of A1 Flue Systems, thank you for your continued understanding and support.

Warmest Regards

John Hamnett
