CITYPOINT FLUES COMPLETED BY A1 BRIDGE FLUE SYSTEMS

A record-breaking flue system has been completed by A1 Bridge Flue Systems for CityPoint, London’s second tallest building, developed by Wates City of London Properties plc.
Risers of 140m were required for the project which formed part of the largest single office development in the City of London. CityPoint includes a Champney’s leisure complex with swimming pool, retail outlets and prestige office accommodation for leading international firms.

Working with main mechanical and electrical contractors Amec Capital Projects Ltd who undertook the shell-and-core contract, A1 Bridge Flue Systems designed, manufactured and installed three boiler flues and four generator exhausts.

Mike Clare of A1 Bridge Flue Systems commented: “Because the building is so tall, the height of the flues was an issue and they were amongst the tallest we have ever undertaken. Using the Deltavent system, 140m risers were constructed, with horizontal runs of 30m and the project was completed over a twelve month period”.
